The Teacher Education Institute
(TEI)
supports retention and recruitment of students and enhances
the instructional activities of the Teacher Education Program. The
Institute’s significant contributions to the Teacher Education Program
Departments include:
(1) Its focus on the enrichment of pre-service
teacher performance in the use
of
technology;
(2) The provision of workshops and seminars to
build a knowledge base and
reinforce competencies/dispositions
which are essential for effective,
beginning teachers; and
(3) The provision of scholarships, resources,
mentors, and tutors to assist
students in meeting the
requirements for matriculation through the
program.
In addition, the (TEI) office works
collaboratively with Volusia and Flagler County Public Schools to place
all Field/Clinical Experiences and Student Teaching Interns.
