Pop-Up Ads

Pop-Up Ads have become increasingly popular as a way for advertisers to get your attention.

There is software available to stop these annoyances.

One thing you need to be careful about is that some sites use pop-ups that you want to see.  For example, if you use B-CC's Webmail, when you go to write a new email, the new email is a pop-up.  Most programs allow you to make exceptions for certain sites or to temporarily override the popup-stopping feature.

NoAds, which is free, at

Some folks prefer to pay a little for programs like Pop-Up Stopper Pro available at http://www.panicware.com/. 

Use your favorite search engine (google.com, yahoo.com, etc.) and search for pop-ups for a large list of available programs.
