The Department of Mass Communications has been graduating students since 1992. Since that time a number of alumni have gone on to distinguishing careers in radio, television, print and education. Below are a few of the Department's success stories

Camesha Manzueta Mrs. Camesha Manzueta received the Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL, and the Master of Arts degree in Public Communication from American University in Washington, D.C. She is now pursuing a doctorate in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in Organizational Communication, from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. A Jamaica native, Mrs. Manzueta is a noted motivational speaker, whose speeches about leadership, diversity, and effective interpersonal communication are focused on the importance of affecting change in the world. Her academic research interests include social influence, interpersonal communication, media effects and rhetoric. Mrs. Manzueta and her husband, Milton, are committed to mentoring youth and recently launched Vision Ministries Outreach, Inc. As a faith-based organization, their mission is to create vision where there is no vision, and prevent tomorrow’s future from perishing today by providing young men with an opportunity to redeem, connect and pursue God’s perfect purpose for their lives.

Rachel M. White I am currently a Marketing Communications Representative at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics company. I develop, plan, and conduct public relations and goodwill programs to improve and support company business objectives with the public, industry, stockholders, and employees. I also develop, write and disseminate information for print and broadcast media. I am a contributing writer for our company magazine and prepare speeches and scripts for executives. Furthermore, I develop international and domestic strategic Marketing and Communications plans, advertising campaigns and trade shows.

Kari Cobham
Kari Cobham is a Staff Writer at the Daytona Beach News-Journal where she covers city government in DeLand and writes local features. She's a summa cum laude 2006 graduate of Bethune-Cookman College’s Department of Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations and advertising.
She began her journalism career at the Voice of the Wildcats as a writer, photojournalist and later managing editor. She also worked as a stringer for the Orlando Sentinel during college. Kari served as president of Vision - the student chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. She has traveled extensively across the U.S. and the Caribbean for work and play, having done PR for Black Entertainment Television since 2003 and working as a copywriter in three advertising agencies in Trinidad and St. Lucia. She will pursue her Masters degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of Florida in the fall of 2008.

Brandon Green Brandon Green was born in Meridian, MS and was raised all around the world. Since Brandon’s Father is a Command Master Chief in the United States Navy, Brandon had the opportunity of living in many states and countries. Brandon is CEO and Founder of BKG Productions. BKG Productions does a variety of audio and video productions. Not only is he the head of his own business he also works for Fox 35 in Lake Mary.

Dana Burns Dana Burns graduated in April 2006 with a major in Mass Communications concentrating in Broadcast Journalism. She was very active in the department and in extracurricular activities. She was captain of the cheer squad for two years, member of Maroon and Gold Productions, wrote articles for the Voice of the Wildcats, a disc jockey freshmen year for WBCC AM 830, and an active member of Vision, FPRA.
