The following requirements are part of the process used to determine eligibility for admission to the School of Nursing:

Application: an application submitted to the nursing program fall semester in which all prerequisites have been or are being met.

CLAST: Passing grade on at least three parts of the CLAST. Students are encourage to take GE 280 CLAST;

GPA Requirements
2.8 or above;

Pre-nursing curriculum courses listed, must be completed at a level of "C" or above. Students who receive a grade below "C" must retake the course or equivalent;

Physical Examination are means of protecting patients entrusted to student's care. Therefore a current physical examination is required from a physician or advanced registered nurse practioner. The Health Assessment should include a PPD or a chest x-ray and documentation of immunity to: Hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, rubella, rubella, mumps, and varicella (chicken pox). This immunity may be demonstrated by proof of immunization record, antibody testing, or medical records of having the disease. If there is no evidence of immunity or immunization against the specific disease immunization is required (with the exception of varicella for which three is no immunization available);

Two letters of reference: e.g. from an employer, teacher, professor, counselor, or community leader;

Current CPR (adult and child) card; and

Personal interview with member(s) of the School of Nursing Admission Committee.

Seventy-two semester hours: or more including seventeen additional hours in the science area, there hours pre-nursing and eighty hours in nursing (see curriculum plan School of Nursing).

R.N.- B.S.N. Program
The registered nurses' program within the bachelor degree program allows registered nurses, who are registered to practice in the State of Florida, to enroll in R.N.-B.S.N. Program.
