When To Apply

Step ShowHow Soon to Apply for Financial Aid?

Applications are available beginning in January 1 each year; please apply early for financial aid online using the FAFSA online financial aid application.  The FAFSA online application serves as your application for B-CC financial aid.  Some programs handled by the Financial Aid Office have very early priority dates. Students applying before these dates are given top consideration for the program. Those who apply after these dates are considered on a first-come, first-served basis if funds are still available in the particular programs. For deadline information, check the types of awards below or e-mail the Financial Aid Office.

Grants

These programs are available to undergraduate students working toward their first bachelor's degrees. These grants do not have to be paid back by the student.

Scholarships

Bethune-Cookman scholarships recognize academic excellence among undergraduate students! The major purpose of these programs is to encourage outstanding students and assist them along the path to leadership and service to humanity. Scholarships are provided to high school graduates entering college for the first time, to transfer students with 24 college credit hours, and to matriculating students who have been enrolled at Bethune-Cookman for at least one academic year.

Loan Programs

An education loan is a form of financial aid that must be repaid, with interest. Education loans come in three major categories: student loans (for example, the Stafford Loan), parent loans (such as the Parent PLUS loan), and private student loans (also called alternative student loans).  To begin the process, students must complete the FAFSA application.

Student Employment Programs

The Financial Aid Office arranges a very limited number of on-campus jobs to students who need assistance in meeting their financial obligations to the College.
