Email: hr@cookman.edu POSITION: Assistant Professor of Music Education Duties: Nine-month tenure track position beginning Fall semester 2006. Direct and take primary responsibility for the Music Education program. Teach courses in music methods. Coordinate the supervision and training of music education interns. Teach other assigned courses commensurate with applicants qualifications. QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Music Education. Strong participation in professional organizations. Record of research and publication in music education. The successful candidate is proficient in contemporary theories, concepts, and approaches to music teaching as well as in those of tradition. Certifications in Orff and/or Suzuki are highly desirable. Preference is given to candidates with full-time public school teaching experience. The candidate must be willing to develop and maintain a professional reputation outside of the college and a rapport with area music educators. Salary will commensurate with experience. Title: Mass Communications Print Journalism Duties: Responsibilities for the position include teaching photojournalism, news reporting and writing for newspaper and magazine, editing, online publishing and supervising production of a biweekly student newspaper.
