All
students interested in pursuing a Music major or minor are
required to audition for acceptance in the Music program.
Please note that this audition process is separate from
auditions for the large ensembles, such as Concert Chorale
and Marching Band. Students must demonstrate basic
proficiency on their chosen instrument, provide evidence of
solo and/or ensemble musical experience, and demonstrate
potential for a successful career in Music. Enrollment in
Department of Music courses does not qualify one as a Music
major/minor. Declaration of the Music major/minor will be
official only after completion of a successful solo audition
before appropriate Music faculty.
Open auditions are scheduled during the Spring Semester Open
House and Fall Orientation; auditions may also be scheduled
by appointment, as needed. Interested students should
