 LETTER OF INTENT

Please be advised that if you have been selected to join the 2007-2008 Concert Chorale as a student accompanists and /or performer for the Concert Chorale, Young Artist Group, and selected small ensemble here are the following requirements:

1.      The Concert Chorale and Young Artist are academic organization listed within the course structure of the area of music education, and may be chosen as electives in other divisions.

2.      The Courses are:

      MUC 110A- Concert Chorale- 4:10 p.m. daily
Robinson Music Bldg Rm. 112

      MUE 110A- Young Artist- 3:00 p.m. T-Th
Robinson Music Bldg-
Rm. 102

     Instructor- Steele- Students receiving scholarships MUST enroll in both classes WITHOUT conflict.   

3.      The courses are listed for one (1) hour credit each and must be listed within the structure of your load assignment.

4.      Please work very closely with your advisor to make sure that you will not have a conflict with the listed rehearsal schedule.

5.      Based on need, you will be selected to travel/ perform, off and on campus.

6.      A grade point average of 2.2  and above each semester, attendance to all classes.

        Note: The conductor will check class attendance daily.

7.      Excuses to go home , illness must be processed by way of the Dean of Women, Dean of Men, or the student clinic. Excuses will be placed in your personal Concert Chorale. 

8.      Each female student must bring – black appropriate length (knee length) skirt with matching blouse of your choice to wear with or without your robe. (Black low heel shoes with neutral hose).

9.      Each male student must bring- dark blue or black suit, an extra pair of black pants( No black or blue jeans), black socks, to wear under robe.

10.  No headgear or earrings can be worn with your robe.

11.  Each female student will be assigned a robe, an after five dress and each male student will be assigned a robe and tuxedo. It will be your responsibility to maintain the up keep of the school purchased uniform. Any loss, disfigurement of these uniforms will be sent to the Office of Fiscal Affairs to be charged to your account.

Dress code will be posted for your information before the performance.

Scholarship awards are issued from the Office of Financial Aid (Mr.Coleman), based on need and recommendation of Dr. Rebecca W. Steele, Director.

12.  FOR TRAVEL- long jeans both male and female are accepted. Shorts, both male and female are unacceptable for TRAVEL.

13.  You are to report, Friday, August 17, 2007; 3:00 p.m., Robinson Music Building Choir Room 112.
