The Music Resource Center is located in Robinson Music Building, Room 104.  Students may use professional journals, catalogs, music scores, and music education materials available in the center.  The room is also equipped for listening to or viewing records, tapes, CDs, VHS videos and DVDs.  The resource center works in conjunction with the Carl Swisher Learning Resource Center/Library, the main library on campus. The Swisher Library houses numerous music reference books, journals, and non-print media and maintains facilities for listening/viewing, computers, typewriters, and meeting rooms.  Students are allowed to check out certain materials as approved by the Carl Swisher and/or Music Resource Center librarians.

Special Holdings

The Department of Music houses two special holdings. The Black Music Research Collection, which contains books, scores, CDs and tapes of and by African Americans and The James Alvin Clark Jazz Collection, which contains some rare LP recordings reflecting the history of jazz. Both are housed in the Music Resource Center

Center for Technology in Music Education (TIME)
Located in the Larry R. Handfield Music Annex, Room H235, houses computers, keyboards, software, and printers where the most recent materials and techniques in modern technology can be studied. The cen­ter also provides computer-assisted instruction (CAI) for various topics.

Piano Laboratory
Located in Robinson 120, the Piano Laboratory has digital pianos that are used for Class Piano, Theory, and Music Education methods classes.

Audio-Logic Sound Studios
Located at 418 Fremont Ave., Suite B, Audio-Logic Sound Studios provides students with advanced music technology expe­riences in a "real world," "state-of the art" and acoustically accurate studio environment. The studio employs a 32-track fully computerized digital record­ing environment, featuring the latest in recording technology including ADAT, DAT, Protools, direct-to-disk recording, digital signal processing, synchronization, sequencing and a music video editing suite.

Practice Rooms
Practice rooms with and without pianos are available to Music Majors for daily practice.
Keys are assigned by the Music Office; a small deposit is required.
