The Goals of
the Department of Music are: (1) to produce a
music professional who can critically think and
reason about the subject of music, and who can
apply such to his/her musical activities; (2) to
provide a study of western music, music of
African-American heritage, and popular world
music; and (3) to prepare students for career
and graduate school opportunities in music.
